Work At Home Businesses – Be Your Own Boss

By Free Home Business On August 23, 2010 No Comments

Work at home businesses can offer an excellent opportunity for people who need to stay back home and earn a decent income. These opportunities are extremely attractive for people who have family commitments such as mothers and housewives, unemployed or people who can’t leave the house because of health problems.

There are numerous websites that promote work at home businesses, offer advice, links or even training and education to start such businesses. However there are two kinds of websites. One of the types are those which are solely focused towards generating money out of the registration fees which they charge from their readers giving them hope of making money after reading their secrets that are accessible only after the payment. The other type of websites for work at home businesses are those which are genuinely meant to open doors for hard working individuals who want to earn sitting at home. These websites give links to such employers, organizations and webmasters who need offshore employees or business partners.

Work at home businesses can mean that you work as a freelancer by your own free will and be your own boss. You take up projects from clients who you think suit you in terms of their timings or pay rates and outsource the work or do it yourself. Or it can also mean that you don’t even take up any clients and in fact offer your products to customers who search for such products or services. A few examples for work at home businesses may be something like offering your hand painted fabrics and clothing line on the internet, or having your own online fashion or sports magazine.

The list of work at home businesses is never ending. The most important aspect you must evaluate prior to planning on starting one is to see whether you are ready for it or not. For this you need to define your potential, your strongest set of skills, your available finances that you may need as a basic investment and your current knowledge about the field.

Once you think you have prepared your grounds you may connect to these websites that offer training for work at home businesses. These websites can offer specialized training, courses and tips on how to make work at home businesses successful. With proper training you can polish and improve your skills. You can see what opportunities exist and which ones will suit you best. At times you may even land up with ideas that require only one kind of investment from your end and that is “time”.

Some online businesses need no finances and just demand consistency, hard work and attention to detail. You have to get in touch with people who are already in the business and agree to promote your business while you put up links to their business. This is a kind of two ways link building. You advertise for them and they do the same for you. So you don’t end up paying heavy amounts to people just for advertising.

Work at home jobs are ideal opportunities for work at home moms and men who need a part time earning. You just need to know how to move wisely to win a market share that generates leads and how to fight competition.

Key Points You Should Understand About Home Businesses

By Free Home Business On July 25, 2010 No Comments

So what are your prospects should you decide to start a home business? What type of business should you get into, who will be your market and how far can you take it? For many of us wanting to start a business we can run from home, it almost seems like a pipe dream. What we don’t realize is that given the right materials, market, skills and timing, we could take an idea, skill or hobby and turn it into a money-making machine.

What is a home business?

By definition, a home business is any money-earning venture that involves the sale of products and services strictly from a home setting. Virtually anyone can go into a home business, provided he or she has the necessary equipment, materials, skills and know-how required.

From chicken pot pies to massages and wine to virtual assistance to specialized services to MLM, home businesses have thrived and created an industry of their own.

Starting a home business

People will probably tell you that you should never go into business without passion. However, on the practical side, it’s wiser if you go into a business you understand and are ready for. It may be a small home business you’ll be running but it will still cost you in terms of time, money and effort. To ensure that you start a home business on the right foot, here are important considerations you should keep in mind:

Money, money, money

Assuming that you have the skills and training to start a business, consider your finances. Can you handle the cost of starting a business? Although there are home businesses that have been launched with next to nothing, you’ll find that there are certain expenses that you will have to shell out money for. These include equipment, registrations, advertising, even construction.

Granted that your bank account can handle the cost, consider if you have enough to sustain the business. This is to ensure that you can afford to buy additional equipment and materials or hire additional manpower in case you need to expand.

Your home business and the law

Most home businesses start as sole proprietorship or partnership. If you’ll be running your business with a group, you might have to apply as a corporation. Depending on the type of business you’ll be building, there may be permits and licenses required. Some businesses, for example, might even require you to have certifications or specialized training. Check with your local government for laws and regulations you might have to comply with.

Do you need insurance?

That depends on the type of business you go into. Generally, you’ll need insurance if you foresee you’ll need some sort of protection, either to cover for your products, services or for employees you will be hiring. Insurance can add to your cost but it can save you from huge expenses in case something goes wrong.

Advertising and your home business

Whoever said you don’t need to promote your home business doesn’t have an inkling how it works. First of all, the biggest challenge you will have as a home business owner is recognition.

There is still some sort of prejudice that many uninformed consumers associate with businesses run from homes. Your goal is to ensure that people see you as a professional with a serious approach and a business that has something reliable and valuable to offer. As such, you’ll have to put as much thought in your home business advertising as you would in a traditional business venture.

Computer Work From Home Businesses

By Free Home Business On April 5, 2010 No Comments

If you want to use your computer to work from home their are many businesses out there that allow you to do so.  The problem is which business opportunity is best for you and how can you avoid the scams ?

If you start to look through the working from home jobs available you will indeed be spoilt for choice.  They all tend to be pretty much the same thing ie MLM or Pyramid schemes.  You join a scheme and pay a fee and then you try to get others to join and pay the same fee making you a commission and also the person who recruited you gets a commission too.

These are not scams at all as they are completely legitimate work from home jobs.  The companies offer a product for that fee.  It just so happens that most of the people who join these work from home business opportunities are not interested in the product but only the opportunity to make money.

Of course with such online jobs you only get paid for your results.  If you spend 100 hours marketing and no one signs up you won’t get paid anything.  Whereas the guy who only spends 1 hour marketing and happens to be lucky enough to get a signup will make a commission.

Not too many people like the idea of working for nothing but when it comes to computer work from home businesses you must be willing to risk your time and try out a few business opportunities before you stumble upon one that works for you.

I tried a lot of these online opportunities and found them all to pretty much be the same.  Someone recruited me, I recruited a few others but then those ones that I recruited were unable to replicate the process and they dropped out after 1 or 2 months.  So in the end I dropped out too as it didn’t seem like a very stable business opportunity.

Off all the opporunities I tried only Work for $3 has actually made me money.  Not a lot mind you, but I tried about 10 different online schemes and this was the easiest and most profitable.

The most interesting experiment was with Teamwork Revolution Power System TWRPS.  It was a 2×8 matrix which gave promising potential for spillover.  In the beginning it was exploding like crazy.  However when it started it was free to join.  Reality hit when paytime came and less than 10% of the early registrants actually paid and stuck with the program.  Since then people have been dropping out quicker than they have been signing out so in the end it was yet another let down.

Work for $3 however was a simple one time payment of $3 and it doesn’t have anyone dropping out as you never need to pay again and therefore no need to drop out.

So I will just stick with the simple $3 program and continue to promote it as a hobby and who knows, 6 months or a year from now I could be making $1000s per month from it.

The Author has been an entrepreneur since he started his first business at the age of 17 buying and selling computers out of his house. Ever since then he has always dabbled in various businesses of one sort or another. The results of his various Working From Home Jobs experiments can be read on his Computer Work From Home blog. In the blog you can read which other Online Business Opportunities have succeeded, which have failed and which were scams.
